One of the main features of our companion bot
@Yeet#3838
is the Twitter success poster, which allows you to automatically post your group’s success on your twitter account. After inviting
@Yeet#3838
to your server, you’ll be able to set up and enable this feature by calling the command /setuptwitter
and following the instructions.
Make sure to possess an active Twitter account.Before you begin to configurate this feature, you should be in possession of 4 codes:
- Twitter API Key
- Twitter API Secret Key
- Twitter Access Token
- Twitter Secret Access Token
To retrive this codes, make sure to apply to the Twitter Developer Portal at the following link:
You will be required to fill several gaps and to provide answers that will justify the codes usage. Twitter is careful about data usage so make sure to specify that you won’t be collecting any data and that the goal is to automatically post images from Discord.
Twitter might take a couple of days to confirm your application, once done that, you’ll get access to the Developer Portal from which you’ll be able to retrieve the codes:
- Click on Projects & Apps and then select your project
Â

Â
- Click on the blue key under Apps to be redirected to the Keys and Tokens section
Â

Â
Make sure that you generated the tokens with both ‘Read and Write’ permissions.
Â
As soon as you obtain the codes, you can start setting up the feature:
- Call the command
/setuptwitter
and input your success channel. You’ll be given 30 seconds to complete each request
- Insert the codes you previously obtained. Be careful to type the correct codes as the token names are very similar
Once you enter all codes, the setup is completed and the bot will start automatically posting on twitter the images send into your success channel.
